Our people deserve better than an ineffective Senator seeking an undeserved 4th term. We need a Senator who truly cares about the concerns of this Washington, not the other. Unlike her, I’ve been in every county and corner of the state these last 5 years--and I’ve heard you! You are fed up with Seattle’s harmful policies which she accepts and supports--polices that jeopardize our future. You want a Senator who votes your pocketbook, not hers. You want big change now and so do I. In this election, I’m fighting for you. And I need your vote.
My ties here actually began before I was born--when my German and Norwegian immigrant grandparents settled in Tacoma. While I moved a lot as a military daughter and wife, my husband and I returned to the Puget Sound as soon as we finished Marine Corps active duty. We raised our two boys, investing time in things that matter: our kids’ teachers, schools, and teams; our work (my husband at Boeing); our church--serving UW students; and many significant community needs. We also enjoyed hiking mountains, whale watching and helping visitors pronounce Puyallup.
But all the while I was fighting for you. Against a state income tax, against reckless spending of your taxes. For children’s health, for public schools, for fair elections in King County. Unlike my opponent, I would have voted for working-family tax cuts, for our military, for the first woman to head the CIA. I will champion Washington’s farms that feed the world. I can bring home vital infrastructure dollars, which she cannot. And be assured, when President Trump is good for Washington State, I’ll support him. When he’s not, I can talk to him.
I’ll be your voice. I’ll fight for you. Let’s win this together!

Blessed by being born in Western Washington and awash in countless opportunities provided to myself by family and community I now have the privilege to practice medicine in Shelton, Washington. Certainly, we live in a land of opportunity graced with a fundamental framework which enables individuals to turn hard work into success. While the playing field may not be entirely even based on variables such as race, family funds or luck, the opportunity to succeed in the United States is at least equal to anywhere in the world. If given the opportunity my first responsibility to the people of the 6th district will be to prolong this reality and continue to give all individuals equal access to the opportunities that exist in our great nation.
We live in a representative democracy. The issues before congress are vast and the expertise needed to inform wise decisions is extensive. I do not believe any one person has the expertise needed. On a daily basis I have the honor of taking care of patients. As a family physician I first consider my patient’s priorities, wishes, and beliefs and then integrate my own knowledge, often aided by specialist recommendations, to create an appropriate care plan. This is what we need our representatives in congress to do every day- listen to specialist/experts, judge the value of the information, integrate our own beliefs and priorities and make decisions for us.
My belief is that the federal government exists to protect its citizens by providing a strong national defense, a thriving free market and a guarantee that all citizens have access to the riches these create- access assured by excellent education and balanced social programs without sacrificing the future of our children by burying them in crippling debt and choking out their opportunities.
Thank you.

In 2016 we elected Jim Walsh Representative after he promised to fight for our community. Jim’s kept that promise and deserves re-election. Jim promised to fight to fairly fund our local schools, that’s exactly what happened with the reforms to state property taxes. Jim promised to fight the extreme Seattle Agenda that’s forced too many into poverty, and that exactly what he’s done when he defended oyster growers, timber, fishing, the port, and our constitutional rights.
Because Jim fights for the 19th District --not for agendas from other places-- our community is already doing better.
Let’s reelect him!

Joel McEntire is a local middle school teacher and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Sergeant. At the time this statement is being written, he has been activated and will be deployed overseas shortly.
Education: Masters Degree in Mathematics Education from Western Governors University, Bachelors Degree in Evolutionary Ecology from Central Washington University. Graduated from Wahkiakum County High School.
Joel McEntire has been a leader in the Boy Scouts, served a two year humanitarian mission to Cleveland, leads a young men’s development group at his church, and coaches the middle school chess team.
For generations our community enjoyed good jobs, in fact the wealth that built Seattle came from the timber, fish and farms of communities just like ours. Today, Seattle repays us by blocking good family wage jobs, mismanaging our timber lands and even allowing an invasive species to destroy our oyster beds. It’s time to say “no more.”
Previously, I’ve voted for my opponent, but his voting record has changed. Honestly, he’s in a tough spot. His leaders are extreme liberals from Seattle with an agenda. I will vote for schools, jobs and to defend our constitutional rights.

I’m a Nurse who cares deeply for our community. Voters tell me, “We’re being ignored! We can’t take any more taxes!” I’m one of you. I’ll fight hard in Olympia to resist out of control taxes, and redirect spending where it matters - here at home.
Let's keep our schoolchildren safe and offer vision for their success. We deserve real job options! Land regulations must respect nature and promote prosperity, not economic hardship.
